I’m Bryan Frye, founder and co-owner of The GridFe. I fell in love with the game of football at a young age, enraptured by the combination of power and finesse… of violence and grace… of creativity and determination. I became obsessed with Jerry Rice’s race to the top of the record books, and my desire to understand NFL stats grew from there. I watched Joe Montana live, and I marveled at his mastery of the offense. I spent time with my grandfather watching old tapes of Johnny Unitas commanding the field and Joe Greene destroying gameplans.
Because of all these things, I have a profound appreciation for the game’s history and an excessive interest in its facts and figures. I bring an open mind and over two decades of research to the table, and I relish respectful conversations about the game.

A note about the site: At The GridFe, we cover NFL stats, history, and research from an objective-as-we-can-be-while-remaining-humans perspective. The site welcomes guest authors with unique/contrasting views and ideas. For instance, I don’t personally write much about the draft, fantasy football, or college football, so I am open to posts from those with far more expertise than I have in those areas. I’d love to hear your opinions in the comments or as a contributor.
